DrunkDuck At Wizard World

Carly Mizzou is now taking sign-ups for Wizard World Chicago for DrunkDuck members. Like the previous two Wizard World gatherings, space will be broken up based on the number of users interested.

She also released the list of DrunkDuck participants for Wizard World Philadelphia. This year DrunkDuck/Platinum Studios will also be hosting a panel and a competition during the convention.

Courting Success: An Interview with Eisner Nominee Brad Guigar

Last month the nominations for this year's Eisner awards were announced and amongst the nominees for Best Digital Comic was Phables by Brad Guigar. Earlier this month I conducted a short interview with Guigar to get his reactions to the good news and find out more about Phables. In the time between conducting the interview and publishing it here, however, Guigar received another form of recognition for Phables, this time winning "Best Local Column" from the Greater Philadelphia Society of Professional Journalists. It's shaping up to be a very good year for Brad!

New Collective of Webcomics: Teenbit

This looks pretty smart – a step older than Lunchbox's "all ages" concept is Teenbit — featuring comics about teenagers. (Comics will be PG-13 and G-rated) As the site says — these comics are all trying to capture something about the teenage years. With heavy hitters Penny & Aggie, Red String, and other good looking comics like Ugly Girl, Geek Blather, Masters of the Art, Subculture of One, YU+ME: Dream, and The Broken Mirror this looks like a great site to bookmark.
