"In other news… hey, remember Life’s a Bluff? The poker webcomic I was drawing until Hero By Night came along? Well the writer, Frank Frisina is now working / partnering up with the World Poker Tour! The comics are appearing on the bottom of their main website, and he has some bigger deal in the works I believe. Damn! I wish I could have stayed on that, ( I know there’s gold in them thar poker hills!) - For non poker educated folks like me, that’s the equivalant of me drawing a comic about football and signing with the NFL! I’d say that’s interesting news for webcomics as well, and shows there is definitly another avenue for creators to take in serving niches. Right now, you have a flood of “video game†type comics or clones of PVP or Penny Arcade– but there are several niches out there if you love them enough to do a comic about them. Me? I’ve always fancied doing a comic about ukuleles and being THE comic about ukuleles… but… yeah. Heh. Anyways, congrats to Franky! I knew that bird had wings."
