Over at the Engine, Warren Ellis asks
I know that some of the webcomics people here have formed into groups, of various degrees of looseness.
What has that achieved for you?
Not much of a response yet. Maybe Dumbrella should offer an honorary membership to the guy...

Welton Colbert Guest Week
Submitted by Ryan Estrada on October 11, 2005 - 16:59
Welton Colbert, the world self-renowned comic reviewer, and retired cartoonist, is having a guest week.
Have you ever wanted Welton to review your work? Here's your chance. Draw a comic about Welton reviewing your comic. That's right, you get to review your own strip.
Things have been picking up for Welton. From his humble beginnings at RyanEstrada.com, he's moved onto the Webcomics Examiner, Comixpedia, Webcartoonist's Choice Awards, Webcomic Telethon, Adult Webcomic Telethon, Whispered Apologies, Squid and Ink, and many more.
But that's way too much work for an old man like Welton. So many webcomics to review, so little interest in reviewing them.
Rebooting Comixpedia, Part 3: Contributor Bios and Images
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on October 11, 2005 - 14:37
Part of the new publishing platform I'll be rolling out for the new Comixpedia site makes it a lot easier to publish the monthly magazine. Now all contributors will have one biography attached to all stories they write for us. This makes it easier for us (no need to retype each time a new story is published) and better for the contributor (no matter when someone reads a story they see your current biography).
If you've contributed to Comixpedia and want to submit a new bio go ahead and email me. Also, all contributors may now have a 100 x 100 pixel image to go with their stories. If you want to submit one, include it on an email to me.
I just finished loading in all of the stories published in 2003. Click read more for a list of contributors from that year. (One of the nice new features will be the ability to easily see all of the articles each contributor has written for Comixpedia.)

D.J. Coffman's writing partner on Yirmumah up and quits but Coffman says he will keep the webcomic going by himself.
Remember the Smurfs? UNICEF bombed the @#%% out of their village.
In not news dept: I must have missed this but Bryant Paul Johnson did a special Teaching Baby Paranoia about Modern Tales when he first joined that subscription site way back in 2002. Dig that Joey Manley as J. Jonah Jameson!
And in the random-funny dept: Doctor Doom's top 10 EUPHEMISMS FOR SEX.
