Rebooting Comixpedia, Part 1: Forums

It's not ready yet (but still likely to be ready before the end of this year) but I've been working--when I can--on building a new Comixpedia. Some of it will be big, some subtle and some of it only benefits staff (lots more efficiency behind the scenes).
The forums have been a crucial component of Comixpedia, but here's a chance to give me some feedback.
1. Do you like the way the existing forum are organized by subject matter or would you rather see something different? For example our general webcomics discussion is split into art, writing, school, business and theory. Would folks like to have forums for genre specific discussion in addition (or instead) to these? What about serial versus long-form?
2. I'm inclined to restrict postings to registered members to cut down on increasing spam. If you've got alternate ideas pitch them here.
3. I'd really like to see if we can get some moderators/leaders to help keep the various forums interesting. If you have an interest in moderating a forum let me know. I don't have a budget to pay people but we can probably give you banners or other pluggage here on the site.
4. Anything else?
Fate of Fright Night?

I'm not up for organizing a Fright Night event this year but I'm more than happy to let others shepherd something. Email me if you've got ideas and energy.

I met Matt Wood, one of the creators of the Dada Detective at SPXPO this year. A funny, funny webcomic about a hard-boiled detective, a talking mime and a missing duck that is about 50 strips into its run.
Here's the thing - I bought their book which collects the first chapter from the website, read it and liked it. Only then did I check out the website and realize this team of creators previously did the great mash-up webcomic, Chocolypse Now. That seals the deal for me - the Dada Detective should go on your "must check it out" list.
Yirmumah joins the new CRACKED MAGAZINE!

YIRMUMAH announces today that we've joined in a working relationship with the all new CRACKED MAGAZINE. Yirmumah will be featured on it's comics page, as well in upcoming issues of the new magazine with their re-launch in early 2006. CRACKED's new website launched today and features videos, articles and other humor related material.

First off a personal plea: I've been busy and fallen way behind on all things-Comixpedia-related. Please be patient with me in waiting for a response and if something is truly time-sensitive please reemail it to me with something in the subject about that. (xerexes AT comixpedia DOT com).
So the news: Comixpedia.org's wiki for webcomics has decided to call itself "Comixpedia, the Free Webcomic Encyclopedia" which is probably going to cause confusion with this site but I'll see what the feedback is on that before raising the issue with the comixpedia.org community. BTW, there's a TON of entries there now and the new front page updates every two days or so with a new highlighted entry. If you haven't stopped by in awhile you really should.

Harry McCracken writes a recommendation for the new Wallace & Grommit movie. Not sure when that'll be released but I'll definitely see that one.
Perhaps like me you've been busy? I'm catching up on Eric's and Greg's webcomic and I realized that there's no "archive" page (or at least it's not working for me this morning) so if you want to dive back into this one, here's a link to the start of the second chapter. (I'm also catching up on Goats which recently published what is surely now Phil Kahn's favorite all-time webcomic. Khaaan!!!)
Finally, Tom Spurgeon points out that Bookslut has an interview with Matt Madden. Madden's new book is 99 Ways to Tell a Story: Exercises in Style which I understand is largely based on material collected on his website, "Exercises in Style".
