Pixelated Pictures: It's the Joint!

Pixel Joint is an interesting site devoted to pixel art with a gallery and forums. One interesting community project there is called The Joint which is basically a collaborative effort to create an apartment complex online with pixel art.

The Drawn! blog points out that Garnier is marketing Manga Head for all your gravity-defying hairstyle needs. Cosplay goes mainstream!?!

Comics Losing Frank Miller to Movies?

An interesting story on Frank Miller at the Guardian. Miller raves about his experience co-directing Sin City and goes so far as to say he expects to direct on his own at some point. He also says he is working with Robert Rodriguez on a sequel.

Now That's Marketing

The Living Comic blog writes today about what may or may not be an Andy Kaufmanesque marketing campaing for the decidedly lo-fi webcomic, Scribs by Greg Galcik. The use of banners and ads to mock the site hosting the banners and ads is nothing new of course (for example check out any archived page of the old bigpanda.net) but when done well is at least one way to break through the ocean of webcomics out there.

Webcomics Nation Getting Closer to Launch

Joey Manley's Webcomics Nation service for webcomics is getting closer to an official launch. Manley wrote in the Talkaboutcomics blog that several sites are "live" for testing purposes. Anyone interested in tracking the minute to minute progress of WCN can monitor the "bugs" forum at Talkaboutcomics.
