Pet Professional Needs New Artist

Jason Salsbury is looking for a new artist for his webcomic Pet Professional. More details at the website, but essentially the current artist Matt Kaufenburg recently graduated from college and can't continue on the project.

The Fart Party is an interesting new journal webcomic about every day life, bikes, boys and booze and is created by Julia Wertz, a 23 year old girl from San Francisco. Mostly done in black & white ink, the comics deal with all the funny little things that happen every day but you usually forget.

Australia Ledger Awards

Gary Chaloner blogs about the Ledger Awards which take place in Australia. Voting just wrapped up so the winners should be announced shortly.
They have an interesting "WEBCOMIC OR COMIC STRIP OF THE YEAR" category which pits a comic strip Big Fun Mega Happy Pet Land by Jase Harper against two webcomics, Magellan by Stephen Crowley and Raymondo Person by Patrick Alexander.

It's not what you think - a bunch of webcomic creators have gotten together to lose weight and raise some money for UNICEF in the process. One of the players, D.J. Coffman, posted a pretty funny on-topic Yirmumah this morning.
All of this was inspired by Dave Wright (Todd and Penguin) who is writing a column for the Flagler Times about his quest to lose 100 pounds in 2006.
Blank Label Comics Promotes New Books In New York

It seems like BLC has books popping up everywhere... even on TV! Viewers of the CBS hit comedy How I Met Your Mother may have even noticed Alyson Hannigan with her copy of “Pure Ducky Goodness†in last night’s episode.
