Comixpedia Lurches Forward
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on January 20, 2006 - 01:52
A few more tweaks to the Comixpedia library (under the hood so no features to report), a slick new vote button for the Top List and a revised Submit News page - all in a night's work for Xaviar Xerexes.
I've changed the "advice" on the submit news page to better reflect Comixpedia's style guide. Following the suggestions will not guarantee your submission gets posted, but ignoring them will make the baby Jesus me cry.
And really who wants that?

BuzzScope Covers Comic Book Industry Sexism
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on January 18, 2006 - 16:21
I'm not in the "comic book industry" so I have no first hand knowledge of it, but these recent columns by Ronee Garcia Bourgeois at Buzzscope paint an ugly picture of an "old boys" club treating woman really poorly or worse. How is an industry supposed to produce work that appeals to women if it won't treat women creators like equal human beings?
One Year of the Panda Express!
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on January 18, 2006 - 15:39
It's the first year anniversary of PandaXpress - certainly one of the more visually attractive webcomics out there. PX is finishing up its 3rd chapter, and getting ready to head into the 4th and final chapter. To mark the anniversary the creators are asking their fans to help them write a second webcomic called [Insert Title Here].

Look at the sweet new cover art for forthcoming Scary Go Round book.
The magazine Stuff plugs AlP.
And I finally got a chance to check out Misfit's Journey, which is an autobiographical tale by Ben Adams about a period in his life right after he lost a teaching assistant job at graduate school.
Licensing Company 360ep Signs More Webcomics
Submitted by Erik Melander on January 18, 2006 - 09:33
It was about a year ago that news broke that Girls With Slingshots and BFX2 had signed with licensing company 360ep. The company seems to have been busy looking into more webcomics that they might sign. Their webpage now also show Adrian Ramos' Count Your Sheep and James Burks' Martin's Misdirections as clients.
