Rib Is Reborn At O1Comics.Com
Submitted by apfurtado on January 15, 2006 - 19:56
Andrew Fords acclaimed indy-comic Rib returns and is at 01Comics.com.
"Like Art Spiegelmans classic holocaust Maus, RIB tackles serious social issues with allegorical references to discrimination. Ford presents a powerhouse of a story that grabs you into this so-called fantasy world that is so obviously grounded in reality-based themes."

Adding Images to the Encyclopedia Webcomica
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on January 14, 2006 - 01:37
We're discussing the ins and out of putting images into the Webcomics Encyclopedia (a wide-open community project based on a wiki raises serious technical and legal issues to review) but as a FIRST STEP creators can hotlink in their entries to their own images. In doing so creators retain their copyright (unlike the GNUFDL license of the rest of the site's content) and to assist us in policing misuse of this policy you must (1) add the {{image}} tag to entries with images and (2) host the image in a subdirectory called "comixpedia" (it can be off of a main URL or another directory).
We're going to be trying to rev up the encyclopedia project this year so if you're interested go to work at the site and join us in the forum for further discussion.
Two For the Price of One: Word & Pictures
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on January 13, 2006 - 18:55
I just finished the short archives of Words & Pictures and wholeheartedly recommend it. Funny, and sometimes sick and twisted, with solid artwork - I don't think I'm going out on much of a limb to say this will get even more popular this year.

As of Thursday night, several artists (many of whom are webcartoonists) have taken the task of drawing Batgirl on their Livejournal. Just because.
PV Comics Announces "Step Back"
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on January 13, 2006 - 14:04
PV Comics seemed to lose momentum when founder Logan DeAngelis began to focus on his print-on-demand business ComiXpress but it continued through most of 2005. I'm not sure when this new message went up on the front page but it states that PV Comics is "taking a step back for awhile" and will be "relaunching in the not too distant future".
