Komikwerks Announces First Print Anthology

Komikwerks, a leader in online and digitally distributed comics, has announced a series of printed anthologies, which will feature some of today's best comics and animation professionals. The first book, entitled "Komikwerks Volume 1" will ship to stores in August 2003.
The book features work from such creators as Danny Miki (Spawn, Ultimate X-Men), Aaron Sowd (Detective Comics, Ultimate War), Vatche Mavlian (Daredevil/Spider-Man, Captain America: Red, White & Blue), Andy Kuhn (Grendel, Firebreather), Matt Haley (Tomb Raider, Gen13), S.D. Lara (Batman Beyond), James Burks (Iron Giant, Treasure Planet), and Vinton Heuck (He-Man animated series).

Fantagraphics Facing Financial Disaster

Fantagraphics needs your help. Fantagraphics Books, the publisher of the magazine (The Comic Journal) which sponsors this weblog, is deep in debt due to loans taken out several years ago, and must raise $80,000 in the next month or face a possible bankruptcy.
Bottom line is Fantagraphic is looking to sell lots of its inventory quickly.
Namir Deiter, as seen in Knights of the Dinner Table (and vice versa)

A few months back, Namir Deiter did a strip which featured a cameo of Bob, from Knights of the Dinner Table. In issue #79, Attack of the 50-Foot Gamer, the strip was printed in KoDT's letter column along with a personal endorsement from Jolly R. Blackburn, the comic's creator.
