This week in Smithson: Scooter has told Micki that he broke up with Blackbird ... possibly because his taste runs more to "bespectacled geeks". Micki pushes her glasses up on her nose and goes for a cheerful stroll through the night. And that's pretty much it, but it's got nice colors, so please visit, won't you? You never call anymore, either.

This week in Smithson: Scooter has broken up with his girlfriend, Blackbird, and is down in the dumps. Micki is startled to see a different side of Scooter. (And the artist finally gets to reference his favorite sitcom in a strip title.) Could this be a new development in Micki's love life? ...

This week (er, again) in Smithson: Micki has Scooter safely back at the radio station, and is trying to find out what's bothering him. What could make Scooter - Mod heartthrob, heir to the Tanchibi Stationery Concern empire, and witty purveyor of pop-culture commentary -- lose his mantle of cool?

This week in Smithson: Micki has rescued DJ Scooter from his sad reverie near the north campus wall, and brought him back to his rightful place in front of the mic. But will she figure out what's on Scooter's mind besides playlists and ironic pop commentary? And is there really a record called "Mostly Madrigals"? We suspect the artist is making some of this up.

This week in Smithson: DJ Scooter is late for his radio gig, and Micki soon finds out why - he's leaning against a tree near the north campus wall, staring into space. The Campus Patroller Page of Instructions didn't cover this eventuality.

This week in Smithson: Their moment over, Chuck has vanished into the night, and Micki has gone to work. The job of a student Campus Patroller is mostly straightforward: walk the campus, wield a flashlight, watch for trouble. But what to do when you find it?

This week in Smithson: The hour of midnight strikes, and Chuck and Micki's romantic moment evaporates as each realizes that they are late for their night patrol. And Chuck seems to have evaporated himself.
And currently on The Art of Smithson: Chumucka Man sketches by Shaenon K. Garrity.

I was buried under a mountain of work this week, so the colors for the latest Smithson will be up for the weekend. But here's the b&w version:

I may shorten that title at a later date.
Oh. Well, if Chuck likes it, maybe I won't.
