Experiments in Audio: Questions from a Newb
Submitted by bobweiner on November 13, 2009 - 07:48
I’d like to be able to record short audio responses in lieu of a blog post from time to time, and I have a few questions on how to do that.
I have GarageBand to record audio, along with a Snowball microphone. Is there something that’s equivalent to AudioBoo for desktops, that will allow me to publish audio to a Wordpress site? Ideally, it would allow me to have a player embedded into the blog post, where readers can listen.
I’m new at the audio game, so any advice you have would be kindly appreciated. Also, what type of microphone input would you recommend for a 2nd generation iPod Touch (for AudioBoos)? Thanks!

Have you ever played hooky from work? Or have you secretly played games when you should have been working? What are some of your favorite strategies to slack off at work?

Speaking Event: The Bay Area Macintosh Users Group
Submitted by bobweiner on November 11, 2009 - 07:00
I’ll be making a presentation to the Bay Area Macintosh Users Group tonight at 7PM at the Largo Cultural Center. If you’re in the Tampa Bay, Clearwater, or St. Petersburg area, I’d love to meet you.
I’ll be demonstrating how I put my comics together using my Mac. I’ll also have copies on hand of “Rebootus Maximus†if you want to save some shipping and pick one up from me. Word on the street is that I’m giving away a copy of “Rebootus Maximus†as a door prize!
It should be a fun night out. I hope to get a chance to interact with some local PCW fans!

A Brief Blurb
Submitted by bobweiner on November 10, 2009 - 20:34
At long last, I’ve updated my print portfolio. This was one of those “back burner†projects that prompted me to consider taking a break from making comics. I used Blurb for my printer, and the copy arrived in my hands a week after I ordered it.
Blurb’s pricing may seem expensive, but it’s certainly not bad for printing only one copy. There are discounted rates available for multiple copies, but if you are planning to print more than 100 copies of something, your best bet is to find a traditional offset printer.

Art: Grampa’s Beach Dream

I initially started working on this piece on Saturday evening. As I was about to save the image, Painter crashed, and I lost all my work. (Save often!)
This represents my second take. Enjoy!
