No joke, Taft is possibly my favorite president (Excluding the first three, because you cannot NOT love Washington, Adams and Jefferson and still so much as pretend you even have a vague understanding as to what a president in a representative democracy is meant to represent, BUT I DIGRESS). Honestly, Taft - Outspoken Agnostic, Trust-Buster, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and mostly everyone remembers him for getting stuck in a bathtub once. The presidency is a lonely job.

So, what was I up to this weekend?

What I did this weekend: Among other things (It was my wife's birthday, labor day weekend AND the weekend immediately following my wife's surgery, so it was a busy few days), I gave in to the temptation I've harbored (ever since I started watching Iron Chef) to make Fromage Blanc - homemade cheese, fresh in the kitchen.

I forgot, I founded my own political party a couple of years ago.

I'd like to remind you to vote the AMERICAWESOME Party this November. We don't have any candidates yet, but we think America is Awesome, also dinosaurs. I might have a convention later next week, it'll involve getting together for milkshakes or something.

It's a big day for my wife, who is today not only recovering from surgery by also getting her first-ever byline on a City Desk piece. It's the latest installment of Nice Work If You Can Get It, a non-saucy little number called "Having Your Cake and Respecting It In The Morning." Fun fact: The two best jokes in this one were hers. Eat up and enjoy!

My good friend Justin Ison recently moved up to Washington with his girlfriend Erin, whose birthday party was this weekend.
