Listening to NPR this morning, they interviewed a local Tibetan immigrant and activist who was calling for a boycott of the upcoming Olympics in China. And although I didn't precisely catch his name, I swear to God it sounded exactly as though the reporter said it was "Jam-Filled Orgy." Is that a traditional Tibetan name, do you think? I can't even reckon how I parsed that.

An Advertising Guide to American Fast Food Restaurants, Part One:
McDonalds: King Fuck of Shit Mountain, so ubiquitously associated with the American culinary experience that it could probably thrive for decades if it cut out its advertising altogether. Such as it is, the advertising column looks good on the ledgers, so in recent years the largely unnecessary marketing department has bitterly endorsed such advertising memes as celebrating the poverty of its consumers and pimping a cheeseburger for loveless sex. Seems to work for 'em.

Just flitting around my desktop, I found this caricature I'd made of Dmitri Mendeleev, the Russian chemist who - among other accomplishments - discovered the 'perfect' molecular balance in the dilution of vodka (38%, for you drunks with OCD) and crafted the first periodic table of elements.
