Ask The Bartender
Submitted by CalamityJon on September 14, 2009 - 11:39
Hey, it's been a while since we've had an ASK THE BARTENDER segment on the excellent WASTED WORDS podcast, but that changes tomorrow as we record a new segment. Our only problem - WE AIN'T GOT NO QUESTIONS! We got nuthin' to ask Baltimore's own Deke Zibinski, barback to the stars, so help us out!
Send your burning queries about life, love, etiquette, metaphysics and/or Kanye West being a douchebag to info@wastedwords.net, or drop them in the comments here - Don't you dare miss your chance for on-air fame and maybe getting called a horrible name over the internet!

Just got back from Target, where they've got their Halloween display set up. They're stellar as always - whatever your feeling on department stores, chain stores, Target in particular, capitalist consumption or whatever else have you, the Target visual properties are always awesome - but I nonetheless had a momentary sinking of the heart.

lord_whimsy) and I found a children's primer of Ben Franklin, "Ben Franklin of Old Philadelphia".

While on the subject of sketchcards, here's a Galactus I did for

I've been getting some really great sketchcard commissions lately (Chris Haley alone has provided, like, half of 'em), and among 'em is this one request for an insanely fun idea: Members of the X-Men goofing off. The client requested Nightcrawler on one card and Colossus and Iceman on the other, so I drew the former watching Three's Company and the latter two playing a console Dig Dug game.

I've been intending to sketch up something like this for some time ...
