POWER UP your vote!

In New York, you can vote Obama on the Working Families line (Row E). Barack Obama will appear on your ballot twice in New York—first under the Democratic Party, and then again on Row E, the ballot line of New York's growing progressive third party. Voting for Barack Obama on the Working Families Party line counts exactly the same for the presidential race—and it also strengthens one of the most important efforts in the country to push Democrats to be more bold and progressive.

Getting into the holiday spirit...

This weekend I watched 3 politically-charged movies to psyche myself up for the election...

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner

An Unreasonable Man (Ralph Nader)

Best Halloween news ever.

for the kids!

Join Raina Telgemeier, Matt Loux, and Dave Roman on Sunday, November 9, as they celebrate the release of three kid-friendly graphic novels: Baby-sitters Club #4: Claudia and Mean Janine; Salt Water Taffy #2: A Climb Up Mt. Barnabas; and The Adventures of Tymm #1: Alien Circus!

They'll be at Brooklyn's favorite comics store: ROCKETSHIP!

Parents and kids welcome! Cookies and Ice cream will be served!

This is the closest thing I have to being a sports fan.

One of my new years resolutions was to force myself to write more about stuff outside of comics. I thought about things that mattered to me and debated starting a blog about politics...but ended up going with something more controversial:

I STILL watch SNL

Last week's Astronaut Elementary explains why the kids are so crazy.

Sort of like a twitter post

After months of eating nothing but spinach salads or granola bars for lunch... I caved in today and went to Church's Fried Chicken. The really ghetto one in the porn district of Times Square. It's a Riese chain combo place that combines greasy fried chicken alongside Nathan's Hotdogs, Arthur Treacher's fried fish, Taco Bell, and some no name Panda Express knock off all crammed into one run down, poorly lit space.

Holy similarities!

People have been linking to this debate clip from the classic Batman series that reveals how McCain's current campaign speeches have been taken straight from the Penguin's playbook! Especially now that McCain has gone back on his promiseof a "respectful campaign" and started condemning his opponent for his tangential ties to shady criminals.

heart of the matter

This week's Astronaut Elementary teaches as well as entertains...
