I put this promo image on SMILE's new 'final' page.
I also tidied up my archives a bit, and removed some of the recent storyline -- I'm allowed to keep pages up so readers can get into the story, but not too much. I think the online archives clock in at about 90 pages now.

The other thing I feel like posting about today is SPX.
Dave wrote a nice, complete post about our trip on his journal, which you can read for the details of what we did and when. He got a really severe allergy attack on Sunday, which basically put him out of commission the entire day, and meant that my head was not quite as in-the-game as it could have been, as I was worried about him. But aside from that, we really did manage to have a fun weekend, and I had a great con!
Scholastic/Graphix will be publishing the complete SMILE: A Dental Drama in 2010!

I've been sitting on this news for months, and stalling updates on the webcomic for even longer. In truth, I've been working very hard behind the scenes this whole while, writing the conclusion to the story, thinking about the book's format, and doing color tests.
...Yeah, that's right: it's going to be in full color!

Lots of apathy going around these days about the election--way too much for my tastes. It mostly comes from the comments sections on YouTube videos, blogs, and other lowbrow corners of the internet, but it makes me pretty heartsick nonetheless.
The other day I saw someone using an LJ userpic that showed three ballot boxes, which looked something like this:

It's almost time...for SPX!!
Saturday and Sunday, October 4th and 5th, you can find me and the Comics Bakery at the Marriott Bethesda North Conference Center, in lovely Bethesda, Maryland. We'll be stationed at Table G15-16, which happens to be right by the ballroom entrance. Same spot we had last year!
