As Promised, New Merchandise!

There is no overkill...The first batch of new merchandise (based on old images, yes, but we’ve found new ways to sell them to you!) is ready for pre-order.

Free Comic Book Day

This Saturday is the Seventh Annual Free Comic Book Day, and I’ll be at Dragons Keep in Provo, UT with several other creators including my good friends Dave Stanworth and Kevin Wasden. Also there: Chad Hardin, Mandy McMurray, and JJ Harrison.

A week of comics done in two days… BAM.

I like being on my A-game. Monday and Tuesday of this week I knocked down a week of comics, scripting, pencilling, inking, and coloring. And it wasn’t just talking-head stuff, either. The week I scripted and drew had elephants, fancy equipment, and impending peril.

(Peril is difficult to draw.)

Anyway, that leaves the whole rest of the week for goofing off coloring the Bonus Story, in hopes of maybe, just maybe, SOMEDAY finishing this next book: Schlock Mercenary: The Teraport Wars.

A Note on Spam-Trapping

Some of you may have seen your posts disappear. This is because Akismet thinks you’re dirty spammers, and I need to teach it otherwise. I get a lot (a VERY lot) of spam, and the Akismet queue ends up quite deep.

So… if you post, and it doesn’t show up immediately, that means it’s been trapped. Email me, and I’ll de-spam it, teaching Akismet that you’re actually okay by me.

Para Ventura Fan Art

So… I’ve gotten a lot (and I do mean a LOT) of hate-mail regarding Ensign Para Ventura. Fortunately none of you are hating me. You’re hating HER.

This week on Writing Excuses: No Howard Is A Huge Improvement

Writing Excuses, with Brandon Sanderson, Howard Tayler, and Daniel WellsThe next two weeks of Writing Excuses were recorded while I was at a convention, and our friend Stacy Whitman was in town. She works as an editor at Mirrorstone (an imprint of Wizards of the Coast), and discussed submitting manuscripts to editors with Brandon and Dan.

Aaaand thank you for your input

Seriously, thank you. I’ve yet to see a thread so enthusiastically responded to here at the blog under Schlock.

Granted, most of you missed my point entirely, and shelled the crap out of terrain I won’t be attempting to capture or hold until much later in my campaign to take over the world.

Merch suggestions?

Okay, I’m heads-down on book work, but no matter how fast I get this thing done, it’s not going to be shippable to you until (*gasp*) AUGUST.

In related news, we’ll be cash-strapped starting sometime in June.

This is okay. Ad revenue and other merchandise sales can pick up the slack during those months. Of critical importance, however, is the RIGHT merchandise.

I know about the Boll petition. You can stop emailing me now.

I’ve known for weeks now that there is a petition demanding that Uwe Boll stop making movies (like Bloodrayne, of which you may recall my review.) I’ve also known that Boll himself has said that he will indeed stop if enough signatures are collected.

Most of you probably know this already too, but apparently until I post the news, you’ll keep emailing me, so I’m caving in.

Shout, Shout, Let It All Out…

I skipped on Penguicon this year (it’s my favorite out-of-state convention), and it’s probably a good thing. All of Tuesday night was spent making trips to the bathroom to shout at the porcelain, and while this sort of thing usually kills a day or two, I was still running a fever and losing precious sleep Friday night, and stumbling around all achey like a zombie on a no-brains diet on Saturday.

Penguiconners, I missed you this weekend, and for this you should be thankful. Whatever I’ve got, you don’t want.
