Shh! Don’t Tell Howard I’m Stealing His Blog
Submitted by Howard Tayler on July 21, 2009 - 17:03
See Howard and I have an anniversary coming up (16 years, yay!) and I really want to get him the Iphone he is coveting, but with the travel & hotel bills for Worldcon & Gencon, plus the cost of shipping over a ton of books to GenCon, money is temporarily tight. So I rummaged around and found some things I can auction to pay for the Iphone.
XDM Pre-orders Closed, Books Ship Thursday
Submitted by Howard Tayler on July 20, 2009 - 22:24
XDM Pre-orders are closed. Tracy, Curtis, and I signed two pallets of books on Monday, and I think we’ve got a few left over.
I’m going to be taking some of them to Dragon’s Keep. That’s right, on Wednesday (the day comics arrive) by 2:00pm you can get a Pre-order edition of XDM: X-Treme Dungeon Mastery at Dragon’s Keep in Provo. As an added bonus, I may be able to draw a picture in the back for you.

XDM Pre-Orders Closing, Looky What I Made
Submitted by Howard Tayler on July 18, 2009 - 15:11
The only reason I’m not closing pre-orders right now is because the stamp I just made for the “Triply-Autographed Pre-Order Edition†is cool enough to drive a few last-minute sales, so like any good mercenary I’m stretching out that last minute.
The XDM Call To Action
Submitted by Howard Tayler on July 16, 2009 - 11:09
You there, Schlock reader! Odds are good that if you want an autographed copy of XDM: X-Treme Dungeon Mastery you’ve already ordered it, or plan to get yours at GenCon. Thank you!
I know that for many of the rest of you a role-play supplement just isn’t “your thing.†That’s fine. I don’t want to sell you stuff you don’t want, don’t need, or won’t like. But you can still help us…

First: The Star Pirates folks have been welcoming Schlockers with open arms. The Tagon’s Toughs fleet is up to 66 members. If you head on over there you’ll be in good hands.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Submitted by Howard Tayler on July 14, 2009 - 19:46
I saw an advanced private screening of Harry Potter and the Half-Bood Prince this morning courtesy of my friend Rodney, and as I write this review I’m struggling with the fact that a confluence of events (of which the film is but one) are knocking my sleep schedule 180 degrees out of phase. This means that right now, through the haze of exhaustion and gritty eyes, I am seeing an alternate world in which I did not leave the house at 6:45am to see a movie, and that world looks pretty attractive.

Howard will be attending two major conventions in the month of August. We do not have all the schedule details yet, but we want to let you know that he’ll be attending so that you can make your travel plans accordingly.
Hiccough Redux

For some reason that title reads like “acid reflux.†Regardless, it means that the Schlock server isn’t auto-updating. Troy and Dave are looking at it, and I’m going to let them. If the comic doesn’t update automagically in an hour or so I’ll go ahead and Notepad it into place.
Hiccough

I think that “hiccough†is the original, non-intuitive spelling of the word we all pronounce as “hiccup.†And my server had one last night.
Maybe it’s wrong to call it a hiccough, or even a hiccup. After all, when humans have involuntary diaphragm spasms they usually don’t forget to do important things that are on their schedules, like post the next day’s comic. They just gripe about how this always happens when they eat too fast, then get on with whatever else they were supposed to be doing.
XDM Arrived But You Can’t Have It Yet
Submitted by Howard Tayler on July 8, 2009 - 21:13
Nine pallets of XDM arrived at the Tayler House today. You can’t have yours yet, though, because Tracy and Curtis won’t be back in town to sign pre-orders until next week.
In order to only stock for immediate demand we needed to shift six of these pallets off to our warehousing facility. This meant getting on the Schlock Hotline and calling Jon Krupp, who generously donates a forklift and a truck every time big things need to be moved.
