Masters of Ink with Artist Tim Doyle on Quitting Your Dayjob

Poster artist Tim Doyle is a creator who steadily grew on me over a period of months. I believe it was his Deniro or Bill Murray series that first made me take notice. Then I started to piece together all of the work that he had done over the past 18 months. He set the net on fire with his Obama / Optimus Prime Chang Into a Truck poster. He now runs his own shop and is clearly an ambitious and talented designer and artist who is not stopping anytime soon.

Masters of Ink: Dan Park’s Wild and Sublime illustrations

Third Wave of Masters of Ink Interviews coming soon

We’ve got a lot of new interviews in the pipelines. Six are already prepped and start launching tomorrow. We have a much more diversified line-up of artists this time around and they nicely compliment the interviews that we’ve already posted.

Here’s a sneak preview of the next six artists which will show up here over the next two weeks.

23 Ways for a Comic Artist to Survive and Thrive in any Economy

By Jason Thibault

This was originally a to do list that I wrote for myself. I was trying to think of as many things that I could do as an artist to expand my reach and get the word out there. Some were stupid so I immediately omitted them and tried to chisel this list down to only the good stuff.

Hart Fisher on Marvel and the Most Controversial T-shirt in Comics History

In 1995 Hart had a few hundred “Marvel Can Suck My Cock” t-shirts made up and managed to sell them all quite fast at Comicon that year. For those of us with bad memories he discusses the feeling in the air at the time amongst the indie-comics community.
