RIP Halfpixel and Webcomics.com

I have come here not to praise Halfpixel and Webcomics.com, but to bury them. For the past couple of years, the Halfpixel crew, Scott Kurtz, Kris Straub, Dave Kellet, and Brad Guigar, have taken this approach to evangelizing not only webcomics, but a business model of free content that makes a profit. Evangelizing doesn't even say it right; they wrote a book, did podcasts, and answered a lot of questions from other cartoonists about how to be successful. And a lot of advice they gave, in the beginning, was really good. They had lots of ideas about how to use social media, website design, and basic comic making skills that were fantastic.
Freaks N Squeeks reaches 1500 comics

My long-running comic strip, Freaks N Squeeks, is coming to an end on July 3rd. Everything you've known as FNS for the past 8 years will be over.

Marvelous Patric Launches new weekly comic Picture Imperfect

In a move that surprised no one and caused others to be so gosh-durn folksy, donchaknow, the Marvelous Patric Lewandowski is proud to formally announce a new weekly comic, Picture Imperfect during Minnesota's premier comic convention, Fallcon.
"This has been a long time coming," said Patric. "But I'm glad to see it finally launched, here at Fallcon!"
Picture Imperfect is about the people who work at a camera store / one hour photo. Even though it's just launching now, Patric has been developing the comic for several months. There are over twenty comics available for reading at launch.
New Freaks N Squeeks Website Design!

Big news from the Marvelous Patric! A few months ago, work began on an actual www.freaksnsqueeks.com for his comic, Freaks N Squeeks. FNS had been running at www.marvelouspatric.com , but the mice needed, nay deserved, more.
After months of hard work and laziness, the new http://www.freaksnsqueeks.com is up and functional. Granted, it mostly just redirects to the WCN page, but still, there's goodies to be found such as a new wiki-based cast page and a forum, and an always-in-progress new user guide!
