Bitpass closing

Just got this in the inbox:

Dear Valued Bitpass Merchant,

We want to thank you for your past business, however due to circumstances beyond our control, we are discontinuing our operations.

We have partnered with Digital River to provide operational support during the period prior to shut down. As of today, January 19, 2007, all Bitpass Buyers with US dollar denominated accounts are being notified that they will have seven (7) days to spend any amounts that currently exist in their Bitpass Account.

During this seven day period, US Buyers will not be able to add additional funds into their account.

On January 26, all US Bitpass Buyer accounts will be closed and we will begin the process of refunding all unspent monies to the accountholder.

Bitpass Merchant Accounts will be available for viewing until February 28, 2007. At that time any funds that you have on account or owed to you will be refunded or paid. All account records and materials will be retained for 60 days and available upon request.

Again we would like to thank you for your business and support.

New comic- "Europe's First Smoker"

I did this as a sort of warm-up for a much longer thing I'm working on. It's a story taken from this book I'm reading (Written by a totally different Eric Burns.) Anyway you can read Europe’s First Smoker here. It ends kind of abruptly, but so did the man in question. I'm entertaining making an Infinite Canvas version. Would anyone prefer that?

Five Ways to Love A Cockroach process view

In honor of the nomination of Five Ways to Love A Cockroach for a WCCA in the Infinite Canvas category, I've dug up this screen cap of the Infinite Canvas application at work.

"Directions" offered free in honor of FCBD

So, the other day it was Online Comics Day. According to the site it was reserved for:

On this date online cartoonists from around the globe poke fun at themselves, tear down the fourth wall a bit more than usual, and generally wax self-referential.

I was planning on stretching out the posting of my Bitpass series Directions, with one installment a week, but, given the point of the date, I couldn't ask for a better time to post them. They seem to follow all of the above guidelines, (for better or worse).
So enjoy it (I'll probably leave it up for a week or so) and Happy (belated) Online Comics Day!
