These guys played at one of my favorite bars the other night but I didn't go on account of I was at the Old Town Music Hall. I'm regretting it now though, the more I listen to their CD.

Did you know that you can make a new nib for your wacom pen with a toothpick? Neither did I, till i tried it. And it worked well (you just gotta sand it down a bit till it fits snug). They wear out fairly quick, but it's a good cover while you're waiting for replacements.

My thought was to do a small CD for x-mas gifts. Just in case I never get the others done, here's a rough version of the John Prine song:
Merry Christmas, every one!

I've been trying to record this song for a week now, but fuck it. It's not gonna be as great as this.

Just got back from seeing The Decemberists, who were fantastic. Probably better than that last time we saw them, which was right around the time they had signed to Capitol. Amazing live versions of the Crane Wife material, Especially Crane Wife 1&2, which is over 10 minutes long and involved some guitar juggling. Chris Funk even played a Hurdy Gurdy, which made me jealous. I'd love a Hurdy Gurdy.

Ever seen a dude play banjo during brain surgery? Yeah me neither. (found via Eddie Campbell)
(Dunno if we'll keep her racing name though)

She ran nine races in all, at the Valley Race Park in Harlingen, Texas. She only won once, and came in 8th most times. It wasn't a good enough record to keep racing, or to be a dam, so now she's a rescue.
