The new great depression:

With all this talk of comparing our current economic woes to The great depression, I've been thinking all week, "man I gotta write a song about this "new Great Depression" until I remembered "Oh yeah I did already."

Since I lost this original chorded version, here's the transcript (with some edits) and what I seem to remember the chords being:

maybe it ain't all that bad,

you gotta take em when you get em

my older daughter is a bit behind in what her teachers expect from her this year, so we spent tonight working with and reviewing stuff she is short on. She's flying headlong into tween-teen-ager-dom, and I badger her about cleaning her room and doing her chores. She is playing two sports as well as trying to hang out and be a kid, which means she really likes to spend copious amounts of time laying sedate in front of old episodes of Veronica Mars, as is the wont of her age.

(after the trains of course)

anyone want to write me a short script for [info]illyham ?  I'd like to draw some sword and sorcery business...

long time no post

Haven't been posting much.

Just finished 6 pages for an anthology comic produced for the Kids of Widney High. It's gonna be a pretty awesome and strange book and has a number of people more talented at the comics making than I. Nevertheless, here's a sample (W/o words):

Still working on the Wreck of the ol 97, here's a bit of page 2:

this was me last night

'nother song

Here's a version of the song I wrote a while back:

I'd like either a recording studio or to take a class in audio engineering. I can never quite get them to sound like I hear it. Either way it's out of the way now.

Sorry I've not posted much lately, I've been working quite a bit. I should have some comics done soon, for a couple anthologies.

Edgar Oliver: revisiting Savannah

From The Moth:

Thanks to all of you who've sent me birthday wishes. I've been thinking about legacy and heirlooms and this story seems fitting because it seeps with the ravages that old families do.

ships press sports

Did this mural last week:

Unfortunately, I couldn't get a decent picture of the ceiling, which is the Rebel force approaching the Death Star in the battle of Endor (you can see a sliver of Endor in the above pic).

Also, one of our local papers ran a story on our mural at the Boy Scout House.

what shall we do with the drunken sailor

Maybe it took me till today to understand this:

a bed we can lie in

It's wa-ay rough, and I'll catch shit if the guys heard I uploaded it, but we spent a decent part of the day recording and here's a rough cut of some new HangDog:

It needs some fantastic mandolin (by robbie) and a guitar lick he's got worked out, but for a rough, it's pretty decent.
