Welcome Dynagirl to the Collective of Heroes
Submitted by Scott Story on February 3, 2011 - 16:34

Hi, Folks! I'd like to be the first to welcome Cary Kelley and "Dynagirl" into the "Collective of Heroes." I was immediately impressed by this comics art and coloring, and then engaged in the storyline. Don't forget, there's a "Dynagirl" sub forum in our Forum, and I'm sure Cary would like to interact with you there.

Another concept sketch of Dr. Wissenschaft, this time drawn in colored pencils. Sometimes, characters like this are designed years before they show up, and key plot points hang out in the indeterminate future, waiting for their placement in the story. Dr. Wissenschaft had no trouble waiting his turn to appear.

Torch Song, who has had a fair number of appearances as a background character, was designed to be a world-weary, chain-smoking Madonna’ like character. I pretty much nailed her look on the first try. She is the daughter of the Candle, the most noted Spire City hero of the 1950’s. She is also the x-wife of the current, now retired Candle as well. I’d like to think that her body language has spoken volumes about her personality in her few appearances.
News and Semi-Newsworthy Stuff

Hi, All!
I’m quite pleased to announce that “Johnny Saturn†is back on Wowio. Wowio has a huge readership base, a nice e-reader, and it’s approach is unique in many ways.
Big things are up with our printed books, as well, and I’ll be thrilled to announce them as soon as the signatures hit paper. We’ve got more exciting news on the digital distribution front, but again I am waiting for that signature ink to flow!
If you haven’t noticed the “Buy Johnny Saturn Here†set of links in the left column, then now is your time to acquaint yourself with them!
Scott.
Randomized Thought Patterns
Submitted by Scott Story on November 3, 2009 - 23:27
Hello, Folks! What follows may be irrelevant, but they are certainly my thoughts, and perhaps a bit randomized.
Item: Benita and took our graphics computer to the shop today. It’s getting a RAM upgrade and a tune-up. I use that computer so much that the house feels somehow wrong without it here, as if the house were empty of something. I await this computers return avidly.
Item: My cat is old. Well, he’s sixteen years old, and for many cats that would be no problem, but our cat Neil has had some real health scares this year and he’s had to fight his way back from the brink several times. These illnesses have taken a toll on him, and he’s lost a lot of weight and energy. I suspect that if you are not a cat owner, this is not interesting, but for me it feels as bad as any of my loved ones being ill. I just want to enjoy my cat on into his elder years.

I originally conceived of the Blue Skull to balance out the male/female ratio in a team-up-book I was once involved in. The book never came out, and I have yet to introduce the Blue Skull in “Johnny Saturn.â€Â Inspirations can come from pretty much anywhere, but I still like this character. Expect her to make an appearance sometime, somewhere.
