Yo ho!
If you’re a fan of action, adventure, and piracy of most noble vintage, you may be interested in Captain Blood — an adaptation of the classic novel by Rafael Sabatini, written by me and illustrated by Mike Shoyket.

Coming this summer! Get on board, me hearties!*
*Nobody actually says “me hearties†in the comic.
Eeek.

This thread makes me wonder how many gags I have inadvertantly ripped off over the years, and how the Long Arm of the Internet may judge me for posterity.
Granted I’ve never (knowingly) cut-and-pasted punchlines, or at least when I have it’s been pretty obvious pastiche/tribute stuff, but it’s a bit nervewracking to see one of the webcomic longbeards get raked over the coals like that.
James sums it up nicely above.

Well, mixed feelings here.
This is obviously the end of Man-Man, after nearly a decade of Internet-driven madness. I probably shouldn’t say “the end,†because James and I may well decide to revisit the world and its characters, but knowing my own track record for following up on dropped projects, I have to be honest and say that there isn’t a huge potential for more runs at ol’ Drake.

Man-Man meets — Man-Man? How is this possible? Is it a dream? A hoax? An imaginary story?* Or… NONE OF THE ABOVE? Tune in Monday!
*Beyond, you know, the context of all of this being an imaginary story. It’s not an “imaginary story within this imaginary story.†Come on, people.

Hm.
Through a series of events starting with news that MAD magazine is scaling back, I stumbled across the blog of MAD illustrator Tom Richmond, which in turn talks about his other current work, including production work for a movie called “Super Capers,†with a protagonist named — pause for geeky effect — Ed Gruberman.

Isn’t that true of most things?
Wow.

Due to some weird perpetual problem with the Man-Man WordPress install, I have to disable all plugins every time I want to post on the blog — and in the 10 minutes it took me to write the last post, seven pieces of spam popped up in the comments section.
This is NOT that popular a site, either. I can’t imagine how hard those spam spiders must work 24/7 to try to get this stuff out there.

I’m hard pressed to think of any time anyone called *-Man “Manuel,†except for during the very clever Tick live-action show about a decade back. I’m getting old!
