Th'_Mole's blog

Alright, that's more like it!

I have a buffer again, good until Mid-June. That's four weeks, during which I'm planning to create and post eight weeks worth of updates.

The Shamless Self-Promotionn Sunday idea looks to have back-fired quickly in a measurable way, so it's history after only one trial.

The political cartoons seem to be falling flat, but a single silly, pointless cartoon I drew got attention and my audience increased. I'm going to explore that more.

For your amusement, a clip from my script book of an upcoming update.

SHAMLESS SELF-PROMOTION SUNDAY

I've been busy getting the comic updated and a buffer built back up, so I have not been saying much. Still, letting this go for over a week without saying anything is too long, so I'm starting a new habit: SHAMLESS SELF-PROMOTION SUNDAY (which means I will be posting on Sunday, and most people will read it on Monday)!

Technically, every blog entry is self-promotion, but on Sunday I will make it more blatantly so, to take advantage of the start of the week. Even if I post nothing else, I will at least do this much (unless something keeps me from a computer).

16 more updates in the pipe.

Huh, almost a week since the last update.

Since the last time, I have scripted another 16 updates for my comic, but it looks like it's going to be tight to create the finished versions (and keep the updates flowing without interuption).

I should be ashamed.

I have no idea where my head is at, sometimes.

All the news in the world at my fingertips, and what is my editorial cartoon this weeK?

A slobbering, tired Microsoft wolf being left behind by a cute, smiling Yahoo bunny.

I should be ashamed.

Webcomics Weekly: good guys.

Good: after reading How to Make Webcomics, I wrote to the Halfpixel guys with a technical question, and they answered it on their podcast.

Bad: they didn't mention my webcomic (although they did mention the comics belonging to other people who wrote to them).

Good: they were in good humor, and the answer they gave made sense.

Two out of three. :)

Taking a long shot.

Recently I entered a contest to re-invent the logo/mascot for a local chain of used book stores. If I get it, I will be able to promote my webcomic, and the grand prize includes a free trip to San Diego for the convention.

Tomorrow, it's back to work on the strip.

Sundays are slack time.

I've had this blog for a long while, so I've decided to start actually using it.

For me, Sundays are "slack time" in my updating schedule. If I post something new M/W/F, then the first two updates have only one day of "dead air" between updates but the last one has two, so I put up an editorial cartoon on Sunday. The latest has been set up, and will appear tomorrow.
