Comixpedia kicked off in 2003 and since then has grown to three two separate websites under the Comixpedia banner:

• ComixTALK (comixpedia.com) began in 2003. An online publication primarily about webcomics it provides daily news and comments and has a vibrant community of users. It also publishes regular reviews, interviews, columns and features on webcomics.  (Comixpedia changed its name to ComixTALK in the summer of 2007).

• Comix Codex (comixpedia.org) began in 2005. It hosts a community-written encyclopedia about webcomics run on mediawiki, the same software used by Wikipedia. (NOTE: only the material hosted on comixpedia.org is available under the GNU Free Documentation License Text)  As of the summer of 2007, Comixpedia.org and the webcomics wiki was transferred to Josh Roberts (onlinecomics.net, comicspace.com).  It is no longer officially affiliated with ComixTalk.
  
  
• Comixpedia Portal (comixpedia.net) began in 2006. It currently features a top list of webcomics although other features are planned. As of October 2006, the Comixpedia portal has been shuttered because of server resource issues. Comixpedia.net currently points to comixpedia.com
