I can't go with my double-block idea (system doesn't allow two blocks apparently)

Is it ok if I block a spammer account for 3 months (or 6 months) with boxes 2 and 3 checked? That should prevent those spammers from creating new spam accounts .. while not infringing on future users of those IPs too much.

I won't be blocking for about 8 hours (going to bed)

When we block someone there's the 3 boxes:
* Block anonymous users only
* Prevent account creation
* Automatically block the last IP address used by this user, and any subsequent addresses they try to edit from

So far I've been blocking on infinite with the boxes unchecked,
but the spam keeps coming (and the new spam looks like the old spam) .. so I'm thinking it is probably the same spammers creating accounts from the same IPs.

From this point on, until I hear otherwise:
I'll block a spammer account for 3 months with boxes 2 and 3 checked,

then block that spammer account for infinite with boxes unchecked (so future users of those IPs don't get blocked)
