Interview with Chris Impink of Sledge Bunny
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on September 12, 2010 - 23:42
I had a chance to do a quick interview with Chris Impink at Intervention. Chris is the artist for a new webcomic -- Sledge Bunny -- his previous project was the webcomic Fragile Gravity. Sledge Bunny is about roller derby and this is a great point to jump in -- a healthy archive has set up the characters and now things are about to happen! Chris is also one of the founders of Super Art Fight - a live art competition, sort of a combination of WWF and pictionary. Chris and tag-team partner Jamie Noguchi won their bout last Saturday night (No kidding on the WWF part -- opponent Bryan Prindeville picked Jamie up and his tag team partner Kelsey Wailes duct-taped his legs together. I was half expecting someone to break out a deck chair on someone!)
Super Art Fight 7: Baldwin Versus Borkowicz
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on July 8, 2010 - 09:47

In June 2008, a new form of live entertainment was born. Titled "Art Fight", it placed artists head to head in a competition that was equal parts Pictionary and Pro Wrestling. Now, two years later, the phenomenon known as Super Art Fight returns to their home base of Baltimore, Maryland for a FREE headlining event: SUPER ART FIGHT 7, Live at the Metro Gallery on July 17th, during Artscape 2010!
It's Ain't Easy Being Green

Good morning Internet! Swine flu even at PAX?! (see Mike/Gabe's message) -- nice to see that the Penny Arcade crew is broadcasting useful information via the website and encouraging everyone to take care of themselves. That show seemed huge this year. I am looking forward to my probably futile hopes to attend PAX East (futile because something always comes up to deflect my physical travels much like that damn leprechaun and his stale box of marshmallows and grains).
INTERVIEWS
Rick Marshall scores an interview with Harvey Pekar about his new webcomic project. How cool is that?!
A lovely interview with the talented Kate Beaton (no! you have not yet read enough interviews with Beaton this year!! And... there WILL BE MORE! This Nostradamous predicts...)
REVIEWS
Brigid Alverson gives a very good review to the first print collection of Skin Horse by Shaenon Garrity and some dude (Jeffrey C. Wells: just kidding!!!!!!!).
JUSTIFY MY HYPE
Met up with the Washtington Webcomics crew last night: Rob Balder (still erfing the world); Chris Impink (um gravitating the fragile... hmm ), Chris Flick (caping the babes? okay this nickname scheme isn't working out all that well) and just met Joe Zuniga who does the relatively new comic Made Up.
Washington Webcomics Meetup in VA Tomorrow Night
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on March 9, 2009 - 10:22
Hey are you a webcomic artiste or enthusiast in the greater Washington DC area?! It's the monthly Washington Webcomics meetup tomorrow night and why not drop by and hang out with the gang? Hosted by MC Chris Impink in the palatial environment of the Ballston Mall (we crawl from our meeting-up-place in the food court dungeon to the luxurious environment of the Bailey's Bar and Grill) it's a couple hours of drawing, drinking and discussing of webcomics.
(and if you hum the theme to the Muppet Show while reading this post -- 100% cooler!)

Updates On Entries in the Ill-Fated Webcomic Directory Project?
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on July 24, 2007 - 14:31
I built a "library" of webcomics and creators back in the fall of 2005 which I put into beta before realizing it was too much editorial work to deal with and the same information could be better provided through the community edited webcomic wiki - COMIXPEDIA.
Nevertheless looking back on the assortment of names collected (some from me, some sent in from you) I wonder if anyone has any significant updates on these creators 18 months later. Maybe we should interview some of them?
