Dr. McNinja Meets Blackbeard Jones, Esq
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on June 20, 2008 - 10:37
DEAD TREES
Bill Watterson is writing the forward to the first book collection of Richard Thompson's Cul-De-Sac comic. Cool!
EVENTS
Chris Hastings will be at the Washington Street Library in Cumberland MD on June 28th at 2 PM to talk Dr. McNinja. Double-plus cool: Dr. McNinja is from a fictional version of Cumberland, MD (one with a Zombie Defense System). (I am totally making a comic called Blackbeard Jones, Esq now...)
INTERVIEWS
Rick Marshall interviews Jon Rosenberg about farm animals and beer.
TOOLS
The Gigcast linked to another make comics tool - this one's call Pikkipi.

INTERVIEWS
ComicMix talks to Chris Hastings of Dr McNinja.
Eric Burns profiles Ryan North of Dinosaur Comics.
INDUSTRY
The Comics Reporter has an overview and a lot of links to the recent TokyoPop restructuring.
JUSTIFY MY DEAD TREE HYPE
This looks cool - Mitch Clem is doing some comics for a print series:
I have about fifty more of these fully inked. It's a new series I've been working on called "Something Great", which will be my first foray into creating a direct-to-print comic strip series (as opposed to a webcomic, which I already have too many of). Five per issue have been running in Razorcake, so you'll see those too once new issues come out, as usual. Otherwise, patience is your best hope for ridiculousness.
PODCASTANETS
Chris Williams listens to comics podcasts so you don't have to... unless you really want to!
SugarShock!, reviewed by Larry "El Santo" Cruz
When ComixTalk head honcho Xaviar Xerexes (a.k.a "Tha Tru Triple X") mentioned that he wanted to see articles on the Eisner Award nominees, I slobbered at the chance to review one particular title, SugarShock! Why, you ask? It's because this little series is written by a somewhat popular guy by the name of Joss H. Whedon.
You Got Your Ninja In My Hippocratic Oath

Over at Wired Jenna Wortham interviews Chris Hastings of Dr McNinja:
"Dr. McNinja kind of magically harmonized all of my tastes, humor and sensibilities together into one comic like they hadn't before," said Hastings in an e-mail exchange. "I understand that sounds totally artsy-fartsy, but I just drew a bunch of flying sharks, so interpret that as you will."

Upcoming Katsucon Webcomics Frenzy
Submitted by harknell on February 11, 2008 - 23:31
Hi, I wanted to remind everyone that this weekend is Katsucon and that there are a ton of webcomic guests scheduled to appear, among them The Adventures of Dr. McNinja, Evil inc., Onezumi.com, Applegeeks, Dominic-Deegan: Oracle for Hire and many others.
There is also a huge Webcomic oriented contest occuring with one lucky Katsucon attendee winning something from over 12 of the webcomic creators -- details on the contest can be found on the Onezumi.com "EpicWebcomicWin" contest page.
