Man, in years ComixTalk is like a tween now... OMG!

We had an interview with Evan Nichols of the webcomic Dr. Eldritch.  Plus, wow! Jon Morris' comic,  Star Wars Versus The Batman.  And Bomb Shelter's Webcomic Idol contest was down to the final three.  (Doesn't look like Webcomic Idol is happening this year...)

Von Allan's The Road To God Knows began its serialization over at Girlamatic.

Scott McCloud's Making Comics was making the rounds; Neil Babra drew an awesome turkey; and another installment in the Most Read Webcomics Measurement Project.

The Return of Todd & Penguin

Dave Wright's Todd and Penguin is back from an unannounced semi-hiatus with a special mystery guest artist penning new strips for the next month. The comic, which returned last week is kicking things off with a contest. The first eight people to guess who the mystery artist is and email the strip’s creator, David Wright (email link found at website), will get a free autographed original comic drawn by the mystery artist.

Guest Art Golazzo!

James Turner picked a guest artist for his webcomic Beaver & Steve today.  It was fun to see all of the various interpretations of Turner's script.  There were a lot of good entries -- some of my favorites didn't even merit runner-up status for Turner, including entries from Danny Burleson, Dave Wright, Jean Thebe, and Scott Wright.  If it had been up to me I would have picked Drew Mokris' entry as the winner but Turner's choice from Dan Woodhouse is pretty cool too.  (Pictured at right is my entry which, deservedly, DID not win.)

The other guest art event going on is Scary Go Round's Feats Of Strength.  Creator John Allison wrote earlier this week that he "had some very creative and inventive entries but don't feel that this thing has been won yet by any means."  I did a comic for this, but I felt like I rushed parts of it.

  • I saw Hot Fuzz last Friday (funny! if not quite as good as Shaun of the Dead). Spidey 3 made a HUGE amount of money despite mixed buzz. Not sure when I'll see it though... What movies are you definitely planning on seeing this summer?
