GISELE LAGACE RETURNS TO KEENSPOT WITH "MENAGE A 3"

MENAGE A 3 debuts on KeenspotMENAGE A 3, a new webcomic from Gisele Lagace (PENNY & AGGIE, COOL CAT STUDIO) and Dave Zero1, has debuted on Keenspot. The comic chronicles the life of a comic book geek and his hipper roommates in their tiny Montreal apartment. It is scheduled to update three times per week and is suggested for mature readers.

"Montreal's a great town, and Dave and I have had a blast seeing the funny, sexy side of life out here," said artist and co-writer Gisele Lagace. "We're looking forward to sharing it with you."

"I'm a newcomer to webcomics and feel quite honored to begin this journey at Keenspot," said co-writer Dave Zero1. "I hope the Keenspot audience likes our little strip as much as we like working on it."

Set in Montreal, the finest bohemian city in North America, MENAGE A 3 follows the lives of comic book geek Gary and his way-sexier-than-he-is roommates in their Montreal tight-as-a-sandwich apartment where the walls are so thin there are virtually no barriers between their rooms.

Some Jibba Jabba With Webcomics' Own Mr. T

I've known T Campbell for a number of years now and we used to kid that he's the hardest working man in webcomics but there's definitely a kernal of truth to that.  This guy writes a lot of webcomics and than he goes out and writes about webcomics as well.  And although he's no longer local to my neck of Virginia and no longer writes for ComixTALK  I thought it would make a good interview to catch up with him as we barrel on into 2008.

If you haven't run into T before, well, his webcomic projects include Fans, Penny and Aggie, Search Engine Funnies, Rip and Teri, and Cool Cat Studio.  He's got another one out just now called Sketchies (with co-writer Phil Kahn and art ist Ryan Estrada).  He wrote for ComixTALK before writing for other sites as well as turning his History of Online Comics series into a book.  He also spent a number of years editing the action webcomic anthology site Graphic Smash.

SEPTEMBER FEATURE ARTICLES, OCTOBER COVER ART AND TODAY'S NEWS

Welcome to October! A big thanks to Spike, creator of Templar, Arizona, for creating this month's cover art. This past weekend we posted the rest of the September issue: interviews with Gisele Lagace and Shayna Marchese; a feature by Grant Thomas examining the integration of text and images with an interesting look at different ways to use speech bubbles; and Michael Payne looks at some great print comics that have moved to embrace the web. More interesting articles are on their way in October...

Cool Cat Cartoonist: An Interview with Gisele Lagace

Gisele Lagace is the creator of Cool Cat Studio and Penny & Aggie. On both webcomics, she currently shares the reins with T Campbell who scripts while Lagace handles the artwork. Lagace and Campbell recently announced the return of Cool Cat Studio, a webcomic I really liked during its initial year 2000-2001 run. And Lagace also recently quit her day job to do comics full-time. It seemed like a great time to find out more about Gisele Lagace so I caught up with her recently via email to talk about comics.

Can you tell us a little about yourself. Where you were born; where are you now?

Cool Cat Studio Coming Back?

It looks like Cool Cat Studio (webcomic circa 2000ish) is coming back with creator Gisele Lagace on art and T Campbell on words.  T's blog suggests the restart or an announcement about it is coming this Thursday.  It was a popular comic for the web at the time but out of sight for several years now so it'll be interesting to see how it's received.
