The MoCCA Festival is almost here - there'll be webcomics such as Overcompensating, Diesel Sweeties, Scary Go Round, Goats, Questionable Content, Dr. McNinja, Cat and Girl, Johane Matte, Ryan Sias, Kean Soo, Becky Cloonan and Vasilis Lolos, Hope Larson and Bryan Lee O’Malley, Dave Roman and Raina Telgemeier, Andy Runton, Debbie Huey, Lark Pien, and John Green.

Clickwheel On iTunes

Clickwheel, the iPod comics company, has set up shop on iTunes.

"This is an important move for Clickwheel and our artists," says Will Simons, Clickwheel’s founder.  "It holds enormous possibilities and could, we believe, prove a defining moment in the history of this company."

Clickwheel’s first features on iTunes are the movie-themed gag strip Joe Loves Crappy Movies by Joseph Dunn, the punning gag strip Silent Kimbly by Ryan Sias, the fantasy sitcom Sebo by Jamie Robertson, Colin White’s autobiographical, politically charged Colin White Comix and Joe Alterio’s youth-and-quest story Fading Fast.

Traffic Magnets: What Has Worked For You?

What did you do last year that brought you the most traffic?
We tried conventions, advertising, forums, e-mails, begging... Banner ads and trolling the forums still seem to be the best bet for Adam and I.

2005 MoCCA Con Report

MoCCA – the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art – holds an ART FEST every year and has since 2002.

This year the Fest was held on Saturday and Sunday, June 11th and 12th from 11am to 6pm each day.

Given that I live only about 4 to 5 hours north of New York City, where the Fest is held, I finally decided to actually get off my tuchus and attend the thing.

Carl Jung called it the Shadow, though it's most commonly referred to as the Alter-Ego these days – a way of understanding how the different, and occasionally disparate parts of our personality relate to one another. The alter ego is that reflection of our inner-selves that we project into the outer world.
