Lately, I have half followed some of the opinions of some of the folks here regaurding women and Comics. Mind you, I am not one of those women's libber types, but on occassion I like to check out different points of view so eventually I can make up my own mind on stuff.

That being said, Reading some of the posts, I started thinking about my own views on this topic and quite frankly, I am no closer to comming to any opinions except the following. (Warning: these opinions will offend SOMEONE...so dont take anything said personally.)

Number One: There are some really talented folks out there, both Men and Women, and in an ideal world, it would be talent, and Not gender that will determines how one succeeds in the Comic/Webcomic industry. However, Life sucks and, as unfair as it seems, people tend to make their opinions based upon prejudices.
If this werent true, then alot of very qualified are just not cutting the mustard.

Number Two: Being the creator of a Porn Comic, I find that alot of My fans tend to be women. Strange as it is, Most of these folks are friends of Mine who are supportive of Me because they know me. not because I am a great talent, but rather, they know this is a passion of mine, and I love what I do. As Much as some folks may feel I "exploit women" in my comic, As a Guy, I do my best not to make my female characters Dumb or Just a bunch of DNA receptals with now value other than to be Eye Candy.

Does that Make it right? Don't really know, but Folks like My work and I enjoy Drawing it, so in my mind, that's what counts.

Number Three: Ladies, I am going to share a secret with you, Guys don't get it. For the Most part, we pretty much
tend not to think before we speak or say something offensive or Rude. When we see women, we dont think "Gee She must be an accomplished something or other with some very valuable Ideas to share" We usually think "Hmmmmmmm Boobies". No it's not right, No it's not the most politically correct thing to do, but it takes some time before we stop focusing on your girl parts to see the kind of person you are inside. Yes it's annoying, and Yes It get you aggrevated and makes you yell and scream and want to throw things at us,but some of Us are really trying. Really, We are, It just takes a few years to get over the boobies.

Number Four: Guys, Look, yes they get mad, Yes they get all offended at us for being guys, and yes they rant and rave, and yes it's fun to Draw boobies. Just do yourself a favor, Man up and just stop trying to make excuses and dont do stupid things like calling them bitches when they get up set. It just makes them angrier. If you draw porn or the traditional Superheroine with a DDD set of Jugs, dont apologise for it, you are drawing what you like. Just dont give them a hard time when they draw their stuff. Believe it or Not alot of their stuff is pretty good if not better than ours, Just learn from them, and Maybe you will have an easier time getting along.

Number Five: Feel free to agree to disagree, No, Not everyone is going to Like everything. The whole point of Webcomics is finally having the freedom and the ability to draw something you like and appeals to you as an artist. I say this in all sincerity, Stop Making fun of one another We webcomicers have a unique and down right enjoyable oppurtunity to do what we love without having to worry about being censored and without having to kiss the kneecaps of some exec who has never read a comic in their life. ENJOY IT, and support the other artists, either by hitting their site at least once, and even offering some constructive tips. but More Importantly, Love what you are doing. Just be nice about it okay kiddies?
