Season's Greetings

Well, last post before the break, I guess. Flying back to Ontario tomorrow, where I will have access to email, but no scanner or anything like that. I seem to have a billion things on my plate this Christmas, and I look forward to avoiding working on them all! ... no, wait. Anyway, I did do a little Christmas comic, but it's going to be published and the paper it's being published in hasn't published it yet (got that?). I think it'll be up on their website this Thursday ... I'll let you know when it's posted. Personally I think it's probably the funniest thing I've ever done, and completely out of place in an artsy indie newspaper, and yet the editor there seemed amused by it ... so I'm amused too.
I have one final thing to mention: I have another Zombies Calling signing over Christmas, in my hometown. I'll just copy n' paste what I wrote on my comic LJ:
Iif you don't want to fight your way into Toronto for The Beguiling signing, I'll also be having a signing at Milton's (my home town) comic shop, Geekdom, on Saturday, December 22nd from 1-3pm (there's location info on the website). I grew up in that tiny little town, which had one comic store that I absolutely hated going into ... it was claustrophobic and epitomized all that is wrong with comic book stores, including icky clerks and a selection of comics that ran the gamut of Marvel to ... Marvel. THAT comic book store closed down a while ago, but THIS store is new, and I'm assured is very nice. And I think it's important to support comic book stores in tiny towns (well, towns that are now basically suburbs of Toronto), because if you don't, where will the poor geeks trapped in suburbia get their comics?
It's actually kind of funny ... my shellshock from the original, terrifying Milton comic shop left such an impression on me that I actively avoided them, so much that it took me a year to go into Strange Adventures in Halifax, despite its excellent reputation. Now, of course, whenever I go in I get so excited at the prospect of talking about comics comics! COMICS! with real live people that I end up bouncing off the walls, and after exiting am vaguely embarrassed at my loudness. I need to learn to use my inside voice. BUT COMICS ARE SO EXCITING!!
Anyway. Happy Holidays to all! Hope it's a good one. And don't drink and drive.
