Hi,

I figured I should introduce myself here, seeing as I recently registered and have already made a few posts.

After years of meaning to do a webcomic, I finally started a semi-autobiographical weekly strip called 5031 in 2004. It ran for 18 months, but I felt restricted by the limitations of the format and the premise, so I canned it and started a new comic in April of this year. The new comic is called Basic Wage Kids and is about the members of an unsigned three-piece rock band of the same name. It’s a family friendly, newspaper format comic that runs Monday to Friday.

Apart from my webcomics, I’ve had my comics and single-panel cartoons published in various Australian newspapers, street press and comic books.

I have a voracious appetite for comics of most kinds (excluding most superheroes) and have absorbed everything from Floyd Gottfredson’s 1930’s Mickey Mouse comics to Frank Miller’s Sin City.

Cheers,
Owen
