Guerrilla Marketing by Blank Label

Joey Manley noted that comicwindows.com, a url mentioned in the NYTIMEs article on webcomics, was in fact not taken (it is still unclear what site NY TIMES writer Sarah Boxer meant to include in her article) but of course, not for long.

comicwindows.com now forwards to Blank Label comics. That has to be the best $15 or so spent on a domain name since Onlinecomics.net picked up bigpanda.net when it went defunct (Big Panda was an early webcomics portal).

And who could forget when someone snatched pigpanda.net after (surprise, surprise!!!) yet another bad URL in a newspapers article.

Good gosh, are they so clumsy on purpose or what?

Re: Guerrilla Marketing by Blank Label

I remember during the election when Chaney recommended during a debate that people go to the wrong fact check website. That domain rerouted to a very anti-Bush/Chaney page until near the end of the election. And forgotpoland.com was up and running before the first presidential debate. That was some swift thinkin' there, man.
