Introduction: "The Con."

Kris X's picture

In about half a week I will be treking over to the ConnectiCon. I've never been to a comic convention before, rather, I've never been to any convention of any sorts before. My first reaction is to throw things in the air and duck for cover in fear of my dignity, but I digress...

I am more or less going to observe what exactly this strange gathering of people is, this "con" many artists and writers have attended and chatted about idly in forums. They say it absorbs geeks and creators of nerds alike and swarms over all who join it like a life-sucking mass of need for self promotion. I've viewed and moderatored it before on the plains of the internet, but in real life... No one can lock it. I will see this beast in the face and either harpoon it, or cower in the shadow of its stacks of adorable plushie stock.

I am determined to return from The Con with more knowledge and perhaps a golden idol of some sort, but I fear I may lose the only thing I partially still have, my sanity. Once I have defeated, The Con, I will look into joining one with a more proper base site and correct badge identification. I may...Even brave the whole weekend. I will set up camp in the center and master the Con with my posters and fuzzy merchandise...

Yes only 4 days away.

(To be continued...)

Sidenote: This is a journal

Sidenote: This is a journal entry for the next 4 days leading up to the day I will attended the ConnectiCon. I outward admit, I tend to stretch the truth for literary color.

All-in-all, I am a writer with no life.Â

Going to Connecticon too?

Going to Connecticon too? It'll be my first con, as well, but I'll be there promoting my comic. Look for us, bud. Us newbies can cower in fear of the fat-bearded guy in the Sailor Moon costume together.

Don't hesitate to procrastinate. See my stuff at http://www.cuteninjagirls.com
