Round One of the All-Monster Death-Match is concluded!
There was an excellent showing of the classic Universal Monsters, with the Vampires in particular utterly decimating Pod People. Mummies, however, surprisingly failed to rally against Terminators. I guess no one ever remembers that Mummies are only sort of the larval form of vengeful Egyptian wizards, which are awesome. Fare the well, sweet mummies,
I voted for you.
Yetis were slightly edged out by Zombies, which I don't even know where to start with. Zombies have no narrative, you know? Meanwhile Ghosts and Fairies made exceptional showings against Goblins and Clowns, while Freaky Children Who Are, Like, Possessed By The Devil pulled a healthy lead over Ogres and orcs, bad news for the Lord of the Rings guys. Round One's most surprising pull was Werewolves and Wolfmen NARROWLY edging out Muppets, there was no tighter contest in round one. Bad news for those of you who wanted to see Sweetums go toe to toe with the Terminator.
Since Vampires demolished their opponent, they get a bye into the next round of voting. Here's Round Two, same rules apply, your voting criteria is your own, here we go!
You know, I say without a hint or irony that I would actually be very interested in seeing EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE as movies. Especially Golems vs Chupacabras. Or, rather, Golems and Chupacabras in a cop buddy film, NOW we're talking!
11Also, I have seen Gill-Men versus Frankenstein monsters ... in, um, a Richard Moore porno comic. Shame on me.
