Crimson Dark Review

The comic Crimson Dark by David Simon was reviewed by the website Spacesuits And Sixguns recently. In addition, in today's installment of Crimson Dark, Simon shows how he puts the strip together.

Here is a short bit of the review.

“I can't think of a time when I haven't been interested in art. It's been a part of me all my life.”

Fortunately for us, David C. Simon doesn't mind sharing. The end result of his lifetime obsession can be found in Crimson Dark, a character-driven space opera with cutting-edge visuals and even sharper writing.

The web comic concerns the adventures of hotshot space jockey Kari “Fury” Tyrell, a rescued pilot thrown into the mix with the diverse, eclectic crew of the privateer vessel Niobe. Simon's ensemble cast includes ship captain Vaegyr Ward, Bible-thumping medical officer Daniel Qian, ship's pilot Marissa Ward, chief engineer (and chief womanizer) Hal Grisdale, and the enigmatic and cybernetic Whisper, about whom more will certainly be revealed as the series progresses.
