Blind Date II: Electric Boogaloo
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on January 11, 2007 - 14:08
It's been too long since 2004's Blind Date so let's do it again this year. We had some discussion over format for it and it was divided so let's do the original format again (I'll use the Border Walker idea for another event later this year). I've posted the archives of Blind Date 2004 at Frightnight.org if you want to check out the first edition.
The format is simple - by signing up you agree to work on a comic with a randomly selected partner (hence the "blind date" part ). The finished comic gets posted at Blind Date II during the week of February 19th.
You can sign-up for Blind Date II starting now through January 26th. Either email me at xerexes At comixpedia Dot coM or post a reply to this post. Include your name, your comic and whether you are an artist, writer or artist/writer (the only exception to the randomness will be that we will make sure not to pair up writer-writer or artist-artist).
We'll pair up partners and send out pairings around January 28th.
We'll being posting finished webcomics for the event the week of February 19th.
Please ask questions here as well so everyone can see the answers.

by Xaviar Xerexes - 01/25/2007 - 22:26
Signups continue through Friday night. Sat. morning (or later...) I'll put the names in a hat and Lil X will draw pairs out for me. I'll post a list of pairings this weekend (definitely by Sunday night at the latest).

by Lance Icarus - 01/23/2007 - 14:18
I'll enter myself as a writer. I am the writer for the webcomic +1 Comics. Just call me Lance Icarus, that's my "webcomic" name.
BTW, I was wondering if we were limited in any way for this comic? Does it have to follow a certain theme, use characters from our current comics, or can it be something completely original the writer and artist come up with?

I'm in like Flynn. The last Blind Date ruled, although I just checked the archive for it and the combined might of Kris Straub and myself suffers from dead linkage. I'll have to see about getting that back online (then again, my art kinda sucked in that thing, so maybe I'll just forget about it...).
Uh, anyway - writer first, artist second, from ye olde Flint Again at basilflint.com.

by John Troutman - 01/14/2007 - 03:21
A permanent hosting solution for these would be a SPLENDID idea. As it stands, I've got our 2004 ditty mirrored at http://www.basilflint.com/extras/blinddate1.html, albeit with archaic HTML that needs fixing.
