Weird

Day's been a little bit ... weird.

First, while driving towards an intersection (green light for my right of way), this old guy decided to march across the intersection against the light. I saw him heading across and assumed foolishly he was stopping at the median, but no, he marched firmly onward. It wasn't the typical jaywalking scurrying either; he was going to cross that intersection right then and there, and at his own speed, approaching cars be dammed! Dammed, I say! It was almost as funny as when I saw a blind person walking through an intersection against the light, white cane tapping away. But that person was, y'know, blind. (Well, assumedly. Could've been a faker with dark glasses and a cane.) This guy was just determined to do things on his own time. I'm always kind of impressed when people seem to think their body will triumph over a ton of metal crashing into them. That takes gumption.

The Anonymous Scientology protesters were downtown protesting in a park today. They had their standard V for Vendetta Guy Falks masks, and I'm pretty sure one guy was dressed up as Mario. Miserable weather for a Scientology protest; Xenu was making it rain cats and dogs. Are there actually Scientology churches in Halifax? These fellas were just standing around in a park ... At the beginning of the day I saw them setting up. They were playing loud Depeche Mode. Not old, Personal Jesus Depeche Mode, the new stuff. Bad form, Anonymous, bad form.
