Submit News Now Open to Unregistered Users
Submitted by Xaviar Xerexes on December 30, 2005 - 10:04
I think I've set it up so that unregistered users and folks-not-logged-in can submit news. If you are not logged in you' won't get your user name associated with the post though.
Aslo I just had a user have a problem with the submit news function but I can't replicate it - it's working for me on all of my testing accounts. Let's use this thread for reporting any problems with the submit news function (or any comments about front page news too).

New System For Posting Started in Early 2006
by Xaviar Xerexes - 12/14/2006 - 13:42
This thread is from the older version of the site (2003-2005). In early 2006, we switched to Drupal for the underlying code. Now instead of "submitting news" and waiting for an editor to review you have several options all of which show up on the site immediately. You can post to our forums, post an event to the calendar or a "user blog". Log in and then click on "create content"
Editors still decide what goes on the front page - user blog posts are reviewed as they go up for potential promotion to the front page.
