Okay, so I can't figure out how to create my own avatar. Furthermore, the only avatars I can see on other people's posts are the standard smileys, and AaronFG's, fo some reason. Everyone else just comes up as an empty box with a little red x in it. Does anyone have an explanations for this? Is it unique to me, or can no-one see the homemade avatars? -Bill

I've tried to upload my own, too, but there's always an error when I do.
I tried to upload an avatar, but the feature didn't work. What I did in the end was to upload the graph to a different site, and use offline referenceing. That works pretty well...

What you can do is go to your profile and link to an avatar hosted on another site (so long as that other site allows for inline linking - free sites often don't let you do this).
I tried loading my avatar from my computer and from another site, both gave me the red x. Is anyone else still having this problem?
The only way I was able to get it to work was by using "Link to off-site Avatar." Everything else had no effect.
Took me three tries and I had to go with the off site link also.
My avatar is stored on my website.

go with the offsite option
That is all.
Click "Profile" and page down until you see "Link to off-site Avatar:
Enter the URL of the location containing the Avatar image you wish to link to." After a few tries it'll usually recognize your link.
Avatars are like underwear. They should change to suit your moods.
How about removing the options to UPLOAD the avatar. :P
