Road From Nowhere entry

...not Road TO Nowhere, which is a correction I made in the wee hours this morning. And I SWEAR the thumbnail worked last night, so I have no idea why it's not showing right now.
**SPOILERS**
I enjoyed the overall tone of this -- and the general dizziness of Frankenstein and Bride Of having a human (?) child, and then the pleasantly ghastly ending.

I was under the impression that they were a normal human family out to dinner on halloween in costume.

At any rate I certainly wouldn't trust any elder god cook books.

D'OH! I'm SUCH a tool.

RoadFromNowhere author here.

Yup. It's a normal family, that happened to walk into the wrong restaurant.
Thanks justanothercrowd, for a second I was afraid I screwed up, and made it _too_ unclear.

I think my entry is less straight-forward than the average, and I could always claim it's not my fault someone doesn't understad...
but it would be like making an "emperors new comic, that only really smart people understand." ;)

Man this one was yeepy creepy too. I've enjoyed the lighter comedic efforts but only 2 have genuinely scared me a bit -Dave Wright's and this one.

I run this place! Tip the piano player on the way out.

You are welcome Road From Nowhere.

I think that there is a general paranoia among comic artists that people just won't get what you are trying to do. At least for me anyway. This is especially true if someone else is coloring something you did in black and white. I remember a friend of mine saying to me "ohh! that is the astronauts leg! I thought it was part of the dog"

That made me sad.

Unlike this comic. That made me happy.

I think that 13 panels make it tougher to be scary or creepy. Very short so it lends itself more to jokes. Scary things involve a good amount of involvement and 13 panels isn't enough for me to get my suspension of disbeleif swerve on.

Jeepers Creepers. I'm never going to let my kid dress as Pikachu.

But seriously, I think this was a great example of how you can take a panel and run with it. we get a beginning, middle and end, and a bit of a twilight zone twist. I don't know about you creeps, but I am kind of partial to those twists.

Pass the fingers ;)
