Publishing

I was recently contacted by a publisher who wanted to use my comic in a magazine. Naturally, my instinctive paranoia regarding people liking my work took over so I had a question for all those working artists out there.
First off, has anyone heard anything negative regarding "Comic News, America's Only Weekly Humor Magazine?" Their website seems legitimate but I'd never heard of them before this and any idiot can make a website. Second, if I do agree to do this, is there anything I should make sure to ask upfront? I've already found out that there wouldn't be any money involved but is getting your work in print worth it ?
Any advice you guys have would be appreciated!

Getting your work printed is a good move because it spreads your work to readers, especially to those who don't use a PC. If you're fine with not getting any money out of the deal, I'd at least make sure your name and website address are printed alongside your work so people can find it if they like it. They also shouldn't have a problem with giving you a copy once it's printed since you contributed to that issue. It'd also be good to know if they're interested in only printing one of your pieces or running a new one each issue. And for the simple legal matter, it would be advisable to get it in writing exactly what they're using it for and what you agree to. Whatever you do, don't sign anything you don't understand or anything that gives away your creative rights to your work.

Don't sign anything that involves your eternal soul! :D
Seriously speaking, I think you should get crystal clear the duration of the deal, an possible incompatibilities with your work being showcased in other media, and the like (Things like "Your work may only be reproduced here, until the hell frozes over! BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAAA!!!")

Right now the editor is going to send me an issue of the magazine so I can decide whether or not I want my work published in it. He agreed to all the legal mumbo jumbo I could think up so I should be covered. Thanks for the advice!
