Hey folks, I've a question.
I recently bought comic art boards from BCE Mylar. While the non-repro blue ruling and such is a good thing, there's another non-repro dotted line in the middle of the page that has me wondering just what it's for.
It's about 9x13, give or take, and it's marked as being "Live". Around that is the industry standard 10x15.
I found similar on comic art boards from Blue Line Pro, but only on their premiere boards (the really fancy expensive paper).
Anyone have a clue what this "Live" area is supposed to be for? I've emailed BCE Mylar but have yet to hear back from them. I've done several searches and come up with nothing.
Thanks in advance!
If I recall correctly, it's the area they want the lettering to stay inside of.
DOH! That was me...forgot to log in.
Thanks again!
Don't worry!
They don't stand a chance against my mighty combat umbrella! It doubles as both a sword and shield, and has a +3 defense against water-based spells
Phear the umbrella knight!

Gaaaah! Who will save me now? Is this to be the end of Ghastly?

Perhaps it marks out the area where you should focus the attention of a splash page that won't be covered by title graphics and credits. I dunno, I'm just guessing here. I'm not a real comic drawing guy.
I just use 8.5x11" sheets of cardstock to draw on now. One sheet per panel.
Cheap and easy.

That's what I thot, but it's on every single comic art board. For a title board, that I understand, but every board?
Personally I find it annoying and distracting as well as needless.
