I've noticed the September issue of Comixpedia has a "romance and relationships" theme. I'm all for a romance theme for Comixpedia, but isn't that sort of theme usually reserved for February, with Valentines Day and all? Certain months seem to have an inherent theme-- A Horror theme would be fitting for October, for example (for Halloween). September is normally a "back to school" kind of month, so why not focus on that? There are jillions of comics about school. So c'mon, y'all! Get with it!
Does the fact that Valentine's Day is in February make romance irrelevant throughout the rest of the year? Also, there might be other interesting themes suited to February -- but if you limit February to romance themes, you'll never get to to do them.
Sometimes this sort of timeliness can be useful, but I aplaud the Comixpedia staff for not treating it like a straight jacket.
They change. We pick them in advance. Sometimes they're more of a focus for a given month, sometimes they're barely on the radar at all.

Re: themes
When I'm in the middle of February, sometimes I get totally sick of seeing nothing but romantic junk. Switching around is fun and keeps it interesting for us.
Plus the theme is RELATIONSHIPS. Which includes friendships, family ties, enemies, etc. not just the romantic type.

Ditto.
Half the months of the year pretty much have a theme strapped to them(probably more but I'm too lazy to really think about it). We're better off with them mixing it up.
... Just a thought.. but would April be a sex theme since Spring is THE mating season.... I'm not going anywhere with this, I was just trying to think of silly themes for odd months
