Hacked or joke or what?

I run this place! Tip the piano player on the way out.

Hacked, I'd say. A new security flaw in phpBB was discovered recently which allows unscrupulous types to gain admin access. There's a patch to plug the hole, but not everyone stays on top of updating their installations. Dumbrella's the third webcomics site to get hit in two weeks. Webcomics.com's forum got taken over, but as far as I can tell, the only consequence was a spam email from the attackers; drunkduck.com's forums got hit a few days ago, and some stuff was deleted. Dumbrella's seems to be the worst hit yet, as all their forums have been deleted. Looks like the hackers are still there causing grief by creating new forums with taunting names.

A news post on Comixpedia instructing folks to update their phpBB installations immediately might be a good idea. Joey Manley posted on the talkaboutcomics.com blog to that effect a few days ago, but not everyone's gotten the message yet, it seems.

Also, t'would be a good time to see how up-to-date Comixpedia's phpBB installation is.

(Addendum: Hackage confirmed.)

(Addendum No. 2: Looks like the webcomic "Sarah Zero" has had its forums hit, as well.)

On the news post. *runs off*
