A proper introduction, and some feedback if anyone has time?

I thought I'd do a proper introduction for myself, after already jumping in and posting comments elsewhere on the forum. Apologies for being a klutz.

I've been doing Exodus for over a year now, posting regularly on Wednesday and Sunday. Exodus is my third webcomic, the previous two having been inked "funnies". After struggling with each of these I realised that I can't do "funny" - I found it extremely difficult to get a punchline at the end of 3-4 panels every time. I have great appreciation for those folks that can do so!

Exodus is at www.exodus.virtualgeneration.co.uk

For Exodus I went for 3D, because I had all this wonderful 3D stuff lying around and I wanted to do something with it all. I've been doing 3D pictures since I discovered Bryce 2 at the end of 1996, and slowly expanded into using other programmes as well. I have a site I maintain with the gallery of my "regular" work if anyone fancies a look.

Exodus started off as "Blakes 7" with furries, but things got more complex quickly as the characters developed. I now find that the story almost writes itself - the overall story arc is progressing as planned, but the detail has changed quite a lot (meaning a lot of my original concept work is now null and void). I have a friendly and active community of regular readers on the Exodus forum who contribute ideas. In several cases I've actually included them in the story - which has been a source of both terrific synergy and awful complications. I also seem to get a lot of email, which so far I have managed to keep on top of.

I live in the UK, and have a little girl of seven who is not, as yet, into comics in any way. Unless they are about Horses. Or possibly Dragons.

Some influences:

Schlock Mercenary - http://www.schlockmercenary.com/
DMFA - http://www.missmab.com/
Faux Pas - http://www.ozfoxes.com/fauxpas.htm
Freefall - http://freefall.purrsia.com/

I would love some feedback on Exodus if anyone feels like posting.

RE: A proper introduction, and some feedback if anyone has t

I haven't read too much of it to be honest... but its definitely a nice piece of digital work. There's the tendency I think... for people to pass off Poser art as being effortless... but positioning, compositing, working with 3d models, etc... is a lot of hard work as we both know.. and you definitely have an eye for quality. That's especially apparent by how it looks like you've gone back and re-worked older pages.

I'm really just starting get ahold of the story, but once I've gotten past the initial "degree of separation" that 3d graphics tends to create - its seeming to unfold decently well.

Um... I'm sure you've been told this before.. but you do realize as things go.. you are pretty darn high up there on the Geek Hierarchy right? XD

It looks pretty, so far, and I'll be reading it & saying more later, but I had to visit the site twice and hunt for five minuites to find the archive button. Maybe if you made it in the same style as the other buttons (forum, contact, ect.) and put it in the same row with them? Also, I'd put most of the banners at the bottom of the page, so that you see the comic right away. I wasted yet more time hunting for the comics link, becaue I could't see the new strip right away and assumed it was on another page.
